1795 C-5b R4 Thick Planchet VG10. Struck on a planchet that was cut from a thicker large cent planchet. Glossy medium brown blending to light chocolate in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal is excellent for the grade. The only marks are a pair of very light rim bruises on the right side of the obverse and a spot of reddish toning on the 5 in the date. The date is relatively weak, as usual on this variety, but it is complete and easily readable. The bisecting die crack on the reverse is strong. Weight 110.2 grains, well above the 84-grain standard for the normal thin planchet version.
