Tarentum/Taras. Silver Didrachm (7.9 g), 281-270 BC. Nicodamos, magistrate. [NIK]OΔAMOΣ below, nude youth on horseback galloping right; upper left field, ΣY. Reverse: TAPAΣ before, nude Taras on dolphin left, holding kantharos and distaff; below, IOP and grazing gazelle. Vlasto 704; cf. HN Italy 970/958; SNG ANS 1079; SNG France 1886.Somewhat of a soft strike. Lightly toned with underlining luster. Well-centered on both sides. Extremely Fine.
