Lot 1336

1853-O. PCGS graded MS-64. Well struck throughout and with light golden toning over lustrous fields. A scarce date and mint with the total struck coming in at 290,000 pieces. This is an elusive coin to find at the MS-64 grade, and clearly rare any finer. New Orelans coinage has always been a popular way to collect coins, as the branch mints produced some of the more challenging dates to acquire. Some have low mintages, others have low survival rates. Thus, its always a good idea to acquire one of these finer pieces when the opportunity arises. Pop 32; 10 finer, 1 in 64+, 6 in 65, 3 in 66. (PCGS # 7524) .
Estimated Value $2,800 - 3,000.
