Lot 1327

1871 Pattern Eagle. Copper, Reeded Edge. Judd-1173. Pollock-1315 High Rarity 7. PCGS graded Proof 67 Brown. Lovely shades of Blue and Brown toning. This is the regular dies for the Liberty eagle of 1871, but struck on a copper planchet. Exquisite toning and careful preservation is evident by the quality of the fields and Liberty's face and neck. Rarely are these early proofs found in such stellar condition, and this coin is simply incredible to behold. Pop 1; none finer at PCGS. The only example graded in Brown for this variety at PCGS (PCGS # 61436) .
Estimated Value $5,000-UP.
