Lot 13

1793 C-4 R3 Liberty Cap, Head Left NGC graded VG10. Glossy olive brown with lighter steel brown toning on the devices. The two-tone appearance accents the devices and adds to the eye appeal. No corrosion or verdigris and only a few minor marks. A faint hairline scratch across the lower end of the pole at the bust tip and a small planchet chip at the rim at the top of the cap are the best identifying marks. A minor planchet clip shows just right of the date. The edge lettering in the clipped area is strong, which is proof-positive that the shallow clip was mint-made. MDS, Manley state 2.0, showing a small lump on top of the 7 in the date. The date is strong and the legends are clear. Our grade is VG8.
Estimated Value $3,000-UP.
