Lot 120

1794 S-57 R1 PCGS graded VF35. Very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate with hints of reddish brown toning in some of the protected areas. This piece is smooth and quite nice for the grade, but there are a few contact marks. A light rim bruise opposite the chin, a few small planchet chips in the field left of the bottom of the cap, and a speck of verdigris at the leaf tip under the C in AMERICA are the only notable defects. M-LDS, Breen state IV. Softly struck at the top of the cap and at the opposing area at UNI. Otherwise the date and legends are all strong. Our grade is VF25. The attribution is shown on the PCGS label.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
Ex David Finebay-Colonel Steven Ellsworth 12/12/2009-John Koebert.
