Sale 87

Lot 1177

1921. PCGS graded MS-66. Frosty with a hint of light tone. Scarce at this lofty grade level and downright rare any finer. The surfaces are satin smooth and show just a thin veil of light patina. Outstanding collector quality for this one year type issue and worthy of a strong bid. There were only 1,006,473 of these struck for circulation, which is a rather modest mintage for such an important single year type coin. Finding a jewel like this requires time and patience, and given how few are graded any finer, certainly represents a solid opportunity for the specialist. Pop 177; 8 finer, 1 in 66+, 7 in 67 (PCGS # 7356) .
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,250.

Realized $5,640
