Lot 1080

1796. Small date, large letters. B-4, BB-61, Rarity 3. PCGS graded AU-50. Attractive silver gray with pleasing surfaces. There are a hint of adjustment marks on the upper right obverse but they were flattend by the force of the strike. Liberty has strong curl definition with only a trace of wear on the highest points by her face. The eagle too is sharp, retaining several of his elusive breast feathers, and all of the wing feathers are present and accounted for. Scarce as a die variety in this high grade and always in strong demand for the Small Eagle type. Pop 11; 18 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 6860) .
Estimated Value $12,000 - 13,000.
