Lot 1008

1863. PCGS graded MS-66. Boldly struck and fully white with satiny luster throughout and all the devices sharp. This mid Civil War issue is quite tough to find like this, as most were mishandled, spent or melted. Gems are few and far between! This one is a hairs breath from the finest seen by PCGS and would make a welcome addition to any advanced collection! Mintage of 191,600 pieces but only a tiny fraction are around today. Gems of course are the most desired for their attractive fields and devices. Exceptional quality for the numismatist. Pop 8; 1 finer in 66+ (PCGS # 5458) .
Estimated Value $6,000 - 6,500.
