Lot 278

1828 N-4 R4 VF25. Ten points sharper but lightly cleaned and retoned glossy light golden olive and tan. There are small nicks scattered over both sides and a bit of fine roughness on the rim between the date and star 1, but overall the eye appeal is decent. Might benefit from a better recoloring. MDS. Superior to the Naftzger-Holmes example that is solidly ranked among the 6 finest known of this tough variety.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
Discovered by Doug Strain.

Realized $2,526
