Lot 230

1811 S-287 R2 Turban Head VF35. Ten points sharper but there is a patch of very tiny pits in the field over the back of the head, a shallow pit just below the earlobe, and a fine hairline scratch from the lower lip into the hair under the ear. No verdigris and the toning is an attractive frosty medium brown and steel blended with some light reddish chocolate and tan on the reverse. MDS, Breen state III, showing fine radial die flowlines in the fields on both sides. Not perfect but still nice for an 1811 cent.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
Ex Chris McCawley 8/2014-William R. Eckberg.
