Lot 19

1793 C-3 R3 Liberty Cap, Head Left PCGS graded G6. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown fading to olive brown in protected areas. The only marks are a subtle puff of reddish chocolate toning on the neck and traces of microscopic hairline scratches on both sides, none visible without the aid of a strong glass. The obverse is a few points sharper then the reverse showing a strong date, portrait, and LIBERTY. The reverse is weaker and portions of the legend on that side are faint. Our grade is G6 on the obverse, AG3 on the reverse with an overall grade of G4+. A nice lower grade example of our first style of federal half cent.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.

Realized $3,173
