Lot 1810

1888. PCGS graded Proof 64. Rich golden toning. As the Three dollar gold piece series wound down, the last year these were struck was 1889, the number of proofs increased in the final years as compared with prior years. This is such an example, but thankfully for collectors today, more people are able to obtain one of these prized rarities. Proof gold coinage has always been of the highest rarity and offers exceptional eye appeal when preserved as well as this piece. Don't miss out if you need a stunning representative of this type. Only 291 struck. Pop 26; 42 finer, 27 in 65, 15 in 66. (PCGS # 8052) .
Estimated Value $12,000 - 13,000.
