1854-O. SEGS graded MS-61. Untoned. A well struck example of this prized New Orleans Three dollar gold piece, the only issue of this denomination from that branch mint. Mint State pieces are prohibitively rare, and this coin is arguably on the cusp of that sought-after grade. A few minor scattered handling marks are present, but this is an early die state that offers a well defined mintmark and would serve well to represent this key issue. Our grade is AU-58. Only 24,000 struck.
