Lot 177

1794 S-30 R1 NGC graded MS60 Brown. Very attractive frosty medium brown and light chocolate. Essentially flawless except for a few minor contact marks, including a tiny pinprick on the neck, a few dull rim nicks under the date and bust tip, and a light rim bruise at RT in LIBERTY. MDS, Breen state II, showing clear die clashmarks on both sides. The die crack through the R in AMERICA is clear and it reaches the wreath but not the T in CENT. A very attractive 1794 cent, but there is some light wear on the highest points of the hair. Our grade is VF35+, close to EF40. NGC population 2; 1 finer in 62BN at NGC for the variety. The attribution is noted on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $10,000-UP.
