Lot 1693

1849-D. PCGS graded MS-61. Mostly untoned. The obverse is rather sharp as all the stars have radial lines save the uppermost which is a trifle soft at its center. The reverse is also well struck with the eagle's wing feathers clear. A modest mintage of only 10,945 struck, this example is now confirmed to be one of the finest known and worthy of any specialized collection. Pop 3; 2 finer in 62. (PCGS # 7754) .
Estimated Value $15,000 - 16,000.
