1885. PCGS graded Proof 65. Only 1,105 minted. Handsome quality and one of the finer proofs to exist from this series. The surfaces are pleasing with good reflectivity and are quite clean, lacking the usually seen handling marks or nicks. Gems like this are so impressive when held, their dramatic proof finish really stands tall above a typical circulation strike from the period. Lightly toned with a small speck touching the inside wreath above the R of DOLLAR. Pop 13; 15 finer, 13 in 66, 2 in 67 (PCGS # 7635) .
