Lot 1667

1860-D. PCGS graded AU-58+. CAC Approved. Lovely golden toning and choice. This is one of the key dates to the series that is quite difficult to find in the mid to upper gradeds of AU or finer. This issue is always poorly struck, notably on the UN of UNITED and on Liberty's plumes and hair. This example shows only a trace of circulation on the high points, and the color is a delightful uniform orange-gold. A prize for the Gold dollar specialist or Dahlonega afficiando. Only 1,566 struck. Pop 1; 12 finer, 9 in 61, 2 in 62, 1 in 63. (PCGS # 7556) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 11,000.

Realized $14,100
