Lot 1419

1859-S. PCGS graded MS-61. Lovely golden toning with deeper russet-gold around the rims with even deeper aqua-blue in the dentils of the obverse, less so around the reverse. A key issue that finds strong collector demand in all grades, this example clearly one of the finer pieces to survive and highly collectable. Considering that these were stuck during the heady days of the California gold rush, and were greatly needed in circulation, it is rather extraordinary that any of these survived in mint condition. Why not secure this condition rarity for your Liberty Seated dollar collection once and for all when the hammer falls? Only 20,000 struck. Pop 3; 14 finer, 6 in 62, 7 in 63, 1 in 64+. (PCGS # 6948) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.

Realized $11,456
