Lot 1203

1871. PCGS graded MS-65. Untoned and frosty. Although the mintage climbed to 118,200 pieces for the year, the highest Liberty Seated quarter production since the Civil War ended, not many were saved, and today collectors wait for just the right coin to appear before securing this date for their collections. Tied with a couple of others as the third finest seen by PCGS, which properly records the rarity of this date and mint in Gem condition. Don't miss out if you have been seeking a splendid, appealing example. Pop 3; 2 finer, 1 in 67+, 1 in 68. (PCGS # 5478) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.

Realized $5,875
