1957 Eisenhower inaugural medal. 70 mm, only 21,705 struck. Designed by Walker Hancock, who was also the engraver of the 1953 inaugural medal for Eisenhower. Hancock rejected the assignment initially due to his heavy commitments as the sculptor of the American Academy in Rome. It was Eisenhower's presidential command that finally put Hancock back to work with the 1957 inauguration executive committee. On this medal, Eisenhower suggested to put both his own and Nixon's portrait on the reverse.
Estimated Value $75 - 100.
