Lot 1056

1916. PCGS graded Proof 65 Brown. Rare in all grades, especially so at the Gem level as precious few have survived intact. With an original mintage of just 1,050 pieces, this is one of the finer seen. Mostly a medium brown color with some slightly deeper accents here and there, a finely textured matte surface is clearly seen on the devices and in the fields. Lincoln's beard shows full definition as required of a Matte proof example, as does a high, sharp wire edge. Pop 14; 6 finer, 1 in 65+, 3 in 66, 1 in 66+, 1 in 67 (PCGS # 3324) .
Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,300.

Realized $3,173
