[Lincoln, Abraham] Funeral Car Mourning Cloth Relic, April 19, 1865. A 2" x 5/8" fragment of black mourning cloth taken from President Abraham Lincoln's funeral car, contained within an old paper wrapper which has the following ink inscription: "Taken from President Lincoln funeral car Wednesday April 19th 1865." This piece originates from the estate of the head carpenter at the Treasury Department in Washington, 1865. Originally purchased at The Rail Splitter auction May 23, 2001. Very fine condition.
