Hadrian. Silver Denarius (3.3 g), AD 117-138. Uncertain eastern mint, ca. AD 124-128. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, laureate bust of Hadrian right, slight drapery on far shoulder. Reverse: COS III, crescent moon with one star within and four more stars above; a few tiny pellet dots, perhaps showing background stars. RIC -; BMC 463 note, and cf. pl. 70, 5-6; RSC 463b. Lightly toned. About Extremely Fine.

Rare variant of similar coin of Hadrians. However, this coin was struck from an altered die; removed letters appear to be COS I running counterclockwise.
