Seleukid Kingdom. Demetrios II Nikator. Silver Tetradrachm (14.12g), 1st reign, 145-140 BC. Tyre, SE 169 (144/3 BC). Diademed and draped bust of Demetrios II right. Reverse: BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΔHMHTPIOY, eagle standing left on prow, palm over far wing; in left field, club surmounted by Tyre monogram; in right field, date (ΘΞP) above monogram. SC 1959.3b; HGC 9, 970. Struck in high relief with excellent detail. Delicately toned. NGC grade AU; Strike: 5/5, Surface: 5/5.
