Sale 8

Lot 1567

1836, JR-2, Rarity-2. . R-2. NGC graded MS-66 Eliasberg. A gem that has superb rose and gold toning from many years of careful storage. The strike is quite bold, with each star brought up fully, as is every curl on Liberty's head. In the toning department, the colors are speckled, with luster beneath. This coin is likely the finest known of the variety, as the best reported in the Dime book is MS-63. This one has a light die crack up through the 3 in the date to the top of the obverse. An important offering for the most advanced collector.
Estimated Value $6,000 - 6,500.
