Israel, Modelia, "Menorah" by Dali, Pure Silver Wall Plaque, 1994. Large framed example (6 x 7 1/4") of medal issued by the Israel Government Coins & Medals Corp. Features Dali’s creation "Hora around the Menorah" from his "Aliyah" series. This is serial number 216/666. Contains 485 gm. of .9999 fine silver. Frame measures about 12 x 12", with COA on back. Slight oxidation on high points.
Dali created the "Aliyah" series with inspiration from the establishment of the State of Israel and its cultural renewal after thousands of years of exile. "Hora around the Menorah" shows a typical image of the young, pioneering State. Dali postioned the dancers around the seven-branched menorah, in his own unique style. Estimated Value $250 - 350.
