Camera Work. A Photographic Quarterly. Special Number, June 1913. Alfred Stieglitz, editor. 59 pp folio, + an Announcement and 11 pp of ads. "An illustrated quarterly magazine devoted to Photography and to the activities of the Photo-Secession," the journal was published from 1903-17 and was known for its high-quality photogravures. In 1910 Stieglitz began to introduce paintings, drawings and other art forms.
Contents of this issue: Paintings: three by Paul Cézanne; one by Vincent van Gogh; two by Pablo Picasso; one by Francis Picabia. Drawings: one by Pablo Picasso (half-tone photo reproduction). Texts: Gertrude Stein, "Portrait of Mabel Dodge at the Villa Curonia"; Mabel Dodge, "Speculations"; Gabrielle Buffet, "Modern Art and the Public"; Francis Picabia, "Vers L'Amorphisme"; Benjamin de Casseres, 'The Renaissance of the Irrational"; miscellaneous others; "Are You Interested in the Deeper Meaning of Photography?" Original gray covers are ragged at edges; light overall toning to pages, uneven foxing on blank, inside covers. Some pages uncut; one plate loose; most internal pages in good condition. Overall condition fair; offered because of rarity.
