Lot 456

1797 S-133 R5 Stemless Wreath G6. A couple points sharper but there is a patch of shallow corrosion covering the back of the head extending over the ribbons and into the field. The remainder of the planchet is smooth but there are a couple marks. The notable ones are a light rim bruise at the L in LIBERTY a thin diagonal nick off the tip of the nose, and a small pit that contains greenish verdigris over R in AMERICA. Lightly cleaned and retoned glossy dark steel and chocolate. LDS, Breen state V, with a die crack from the rim to the bottom of the neck and another from the dentils up through the lowest curl left of the date. The date is clear except for weakness at the 97 due to die sinking associated with the late die state. The legends are strong except for strike weakness at OF.
Estimated Value $200-UP.

Realized $259
