1797 C-1 R2 1 Above 1 F12. Struck over a Talbot Allum & Lee Cent. Glossy steel and chocolate brown. Smooth and attractive for the grade, free of any notable defects. Very late die state, Manley state 5.0. The die breaks are dramatic with resulting weakness before the face and on the lower right part of the reverse. In addition the end of the nose is now distorted into a "Bob Hope ski jump"" appearance. Struck on a planchet cut from a Talbot Allum & Lee Cent with obvious undertype visible on both sides.
