Roosevelt, Eleanor (1884-192) First Lady, diplomat, and humanitarian. Typed letter signed, on personal stationery, one page, 6 x 7 in., New York, Sept. 6, 1961. The widow of FDR sends a cheerful letter to a hospital patient, William P. Miller: "I am sorry to hear from one of your friends that you are in the hospital and this is just a note to say that I hope you will soon be well and strong again…" With original envelope bearing her printed franking signature.
