Ruotte, Mécou, Régnier, et. al. (French Lot). Group of French items, including two prints by Louis Charles Ruotte (1754-1806): Le Lendemain des Noces and Mariage Samnite; two prints by André Joseph Mécou (1771-1837): Psychée et l'Amour and Vénus et le Jeune Ascagne; one print by Mathurin Régnier (1673-1613): Un Obstacle Franchi; one print by Mariage after the painting by Garnier: Cornélie Mère des Gracques (this print is laid to board with mounting remnants and dampstaining in borders) The prints all have moderate to heavy foxing. Other items in the lot include three French cartoons, two of them political; two prints of La Mode Illustrée; and a print of the Lapin Agile in Montmartre. Also, an 1854 document from the Secretary General of the Grande Chancellerie de l'Ordre Impérial de la Légion d'Honneur informing General Partouneaux that the Emperor is going to give the grade of Chevalier in the Order to M. Valmer, Captain of Cavalry; plus an engraving of Napoleon. 14 items. Estimated Value $250 - 350
