Japanese Woodblock Print, c. 1890. Sight: 17 x 13 in.; framed: 25 x 20 in. Toning at center fold; small moth damage. Artist and tale illustrated are unknown. Two figures, whose name are at upper right and left, struggle over a purse. Western artists, and especially 19th century French artists, were very influenced by Japanese woodcut prints; they called it "japonisme." Estimated Value $250 - 300
