Hogarth, Burne. Tarzan. Poster handsigned "Hogarth" at lower left of the image and inscribed and signed, "To Michelle, With love and affection--from Tarzan and Burne Hogarth / 1981" at lower right, 22 x 33½ (visible); framed to 25½ x 37 in. The poster was made to promote an art show at The Puck Gallery in New York City, Oct. 8-Nov. 2, 1974, which the publisher, Watson-Guptil, sponsored to celebrate the publication of Burne Hogarth's graphic novel adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough's Jungle Tales of Tarzan. Very good; one vertical scratch to the "u" in "Puck." Hogarth drew the Tarzan Sunday page for 12 years (1937-45 and 1947-50). In 1972, he published Tarzan of the Apes, followed by Jungle Tales of Tarzan in 1976. Estimated Value $800 - 1,000
