Lovely Pair of Porcelain Olympic Athletes. 1) A artistic art deco style rendition in glossy white porcelain of a nude male athlete in semi-kneeling position, holding a torch, resting on a rectangular base. Height 9", the base 3" x 5.5" and marked at bottom in blue "Herend Hungary Handpainted" with an incuse model number "5797". Of uncertain vintage, possibly modern. Very attractive, skillfully made and in perfect condition.
2) A torch bearing running male athlete in matte white porcelain on a base with Olympic rings, the torch with candle wick for lighting. Height 10.5", the base aprox. 2.75" square, with incuse number "12594"; possibly modern manufacture. Excellent condition. A handsome pair. Estimated Value $300 - 400
