Dempsey, Jack and Gene Tunney. Dempsey (1895-1983) was heavyweight champion from 1919-26; nicknamed "The Manassa Mauler." Photograph handsigned and inscribed in blue ink, "Thanks Mary & lots of Luck From Jack Dempsey." The photo is in a presentation holder from Jack Dempsey's Broadway Bar and Cocktail Lounge in New York and signed above the photo on the cardstock frame. The date "3-5-54" is pencilled on the inside cover. A handsome photo of Dempsey with a young couple (the man is in unform) in his bar. Tunney (1897-1978) was heavyweight boxing champion from 1926-28; he defeated Jack Dempsey twice. Typed Letter Signed, one page, on personal letterhead, 10 x 8", Oct. 7, 1930. To Guaranty Trust Company asking for physical delivery of all his securities held by the bank. File hole and staple marks at top and filing stamp at lower left, not affecting Tunney's very large signature. Estimated Value $200 - 300
