Byrd, Admiral Richard E. Book signed and inscribed on the half title page, "To Charles Ruby with cordial regard. R E Byrd." The book is Discovery. The Story of the Second Byrd Antarctic Expedition, New York, G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1935. Light toning; edge wear to dust jacket. With signed cover bearing cachet: "Delta Delta Delta JMU Sponsors Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd. Decatur, Illinois. April 18, 1931. Byrd Antarctic Expedition." Closed tear touches the "B" in "Byrd." Also, a 5½ x 3½ card with a photo of Byrd and penguins, signed under the image. Estimated Value $300 - 500
