Charles X (1757-1836) King of France. Younger brother of Louis XVI and Louis XVIII; uncle to Louis XVII and last Bourbon King of France. He ruled from 1824-1830, ending with the July Revolution of 1830 and the election of Louis Philippe, Duke of Orleans, as King. Charles lived in exile until his death. Partly-printed document signed "Charles" as King, vellum, 20½ x 16¾ in., Saint Cloud, Sept. 20, 1825. Naming the Sieur Piedecocq an Officer of the Legion of Honor. Countersigned by Marshal Macdonald. With lovely decorative borders and engraving at top. Fine. Estimated Value $100 - 300
