Steel Document Box With Scottish Royal Coat of Arms. 19 x 16½ x 3¼ inches, dark green, adorned with the colorful Scottish Royal Coat of Arms. "Nemo Me Impune Larcessit," (No one attacks me with impunity") is on a blue scroll across the bottom; this is the motto of the Order of the Thistle, the Scots Guards, the Royal Regiment of Scotland, and the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. The motto "In Defens" is covered by a brass plaque which reads "'Dodson / Horncastle / 1504"; we doubt that the box dates back to 1504 but it does have some age to it. Only one of the two sliding levers is present but it keeps the box closed; key not present. Very attractive. Estimated Value $200 - 300
