Radio Orphan Annie and Melvin Purvis Junior G- Man Corps Memorabilia. Four items, including three Radio Orphan Annie items: (1) A 1936 badge-shaped pin with two keys crossed in the middle and the initials "ROA SS" (Radio Orphan Annie Secret Society) (2) "Radio Orphan Annie's Secret Society 1936" 10-page booklet with new signs, signals, codes, and secrets; and (3) "Radio Orphan Annie's Book About Dogs,"31 pages. The two booklets have a young girl's name, Ruth Waite, written in pencil. The fourth item is a Melvin Purvis Junior G-Man Corps, Girls Division pin. Orphan Annie was a 15- minute serial radio show based on the comic strip by Harold Gray. Debuting in 1931, it was the first late-afternoon children's serial, and Ovaltine was the sponsor. Melvin Purvis was the G Man who shot John Dillinger. Estimated Value $150 - 200
