Lot 2127

1896. NGC graded MS-65+. A well struck gem exhibiting rich mint bloom color. The surfaces on this handsome Gem are judged by us to be vivid pinkish gold injected into color, and quite lustrous, with the grade acting on behalf of its superlative quality. Don't expect the any halfhearted impression left by the striking of the dies that made this Quarter Eagle, for we are glad to report the opposite is true. This is a very meticulously struck coin with sharp centers including shield and full hair curls and the rims & denticles acting as spacious boundaries for the relief designs. Only 19,070 pieces struck. Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,100

Realized $2,760
