Lot 1541

1950. PCGS graded MS-67 Full Bell Lines. CAC Approved. A superb satiny mint gem with delicate hints of natural pastel toning about the borders. Metal flow enhances the glittering mint luster that covers the surfaces, giving the coin a shimmering, satin appearance. The original mint brilliance is only interrupted by an occasional aura of pale patina. It is easy to see this piece was delivered a hard blow by the dies, or as some researchers believe, the dies were nearly new and carefully set in the equipment to impart the requisite force, and which imparted their sharpness to the struck planchet. More to the point, we feel that enthusiastic admirers of the series will recognize its importance at once, and that the sight of other bidders in action should nerve the ultimate purchaser with the strength to assign this a bid indispensable to its superior condition. Pop 6; none finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 86656) Estimated Value $5,000-UP

Ex #1 Ranked PCGS Registry Napier Set.

Realized $16,100
