Lot 217

1793 S-1 R4 Chain AMERI. G4. Rather glossy steel brown and chocolate. Microscopic roughness covers the fields and protected areas while the highpoints are smooth. No verdigris or contact marks. The obverse is weaker than the reverse, as usual for Chain Cents. The date is very faint, essentially gone, but most of LIBERTY is easily readable and the legends on the reverse are complete, although CENT and OF AMERI are weak. MDS with swelling at the top of the U in UNITED. Decent for a low grade Chain AMERI.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
Ex Carvin Goodridge collection.
