Bush, George W (1946 -) 43rd President of the United States (2001-2009). 8 x 10 in. color U.S. Navy photo signed in blue marker, n.p., n.d. The photo was taken on May 1, 2003 on the flight deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, where Bush made a theatrical jet landing and gave a speech announcing the end of major combat operations in the Iraq War under a "Mission Accomplished" banner. The whole scenario was controversial since the war was not close to being over; casualties continued to mount as guerilla warfare increased. Fine.
