Russell, Charles M. Will Rogers. Bronze sculpture of the humorist Will Rogers on horseback signed by the artist on the base, along with a steer skull. 11 x 10¾ in., mounted on oval marble base. Weight is 15 lbs. 6½ oz. Russell (1864-1926) and Rogers (1875-1935) were friends. Rogers called Russell "the only painter of western pictures in the world that a cowboy can't criticize."
