Mene, P.J. A Working Horse. Bronze sculpture signed on the base, which is 6 in. wide x 14 in. long. The horse is 10½ in. high by 11¼ in. long. Weight is 17 lbs. 3 oz. Pierre Jules Mene (1810-1879), was a French sculptor. He is considered the pioneer of animal sculpture in the nineteenth century.
