Deke Slayton’s Pueblo Indian Pottery Shards, Deke Slayton evidently collected some unique antiquities. This is a display of 13 Pueblo Indian Pottery Shards from one of the oldest ruins in the U.S. The ruins where these pieces were collected is about 50 miles NW of Santa Fe, NM along the Chama River. The ruin is estimated to be 20,000 years old. These pottery shards are from an approved dig in 1963. While these remains of a past civilization may not be extraterrestrial in origin they are interesting and once placed in a new display will make a unique addition to any collection. (The current display case is in very poor condition but transferring the shards to a new case would not be difficult.) A descriptive card is included in the display. Ex. the Astronaut Donald K. "Deke" Estate Collection.
