Monroe, James (1758-1831) 5th President of the United States (1817-1825). Partly-printed document signed as President, vellum, 12½ x 13½ in., Washington, 14 Jan. 1823. Granting to Frederick Moser 300 acres of land "lying north-west of the river Ohio, between the Little Miami and Sciota…." Countersigned by Land Commissioner John McLean. Intact paper seal. Overall age toning. Cancellation cuts affect McLean's signature but do not touch Monroe's.
