Buzz Aldrin Autograph and flown "Kapton" heat shield., A beautiful presentation piece combining 3 items related to Apollo 11, all double matted. An 8 x 10" portrait of Buzz Aldrin on the Lunar surface together with Aldrin’s autograph on a cancelled check and a piece of the Command Module Kapton foil. The Kapton polymide tape was part of the spacecraft’s thermal protection subsystem and as noted "was flown to the moon". This piece was removed from Command Module, Columbia after splashdown and was part of the personal collection of Buzz Aldrin. Overall size 13½ x 19". This presentation piece was one of the first that Michael Orenstein designed working directly with Aldrin. Ex. the Michael Orenstein Estate Collection.
