Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. Silver Tetradrachm (17.1g). Minted at Astibo or Damastion under Audoleon, ca. 300-286 BC. In the name of Alexander III, the Great. Herakles head right clad in lion's skin. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left holding eagle and scepter, his one foot tilted up before the throne, the other back behind front leg of throne, wreath in left field. Price 645; Waggoner Reflections, Issue III, dies 17/c. Soft peripheral iridescent hues. Choice Very Fine. Rare.
